If you have already visited Japan before then it may not be new for us to know that the japan immigration has a very smooth procedure for clearing immigration at airport, where the visitor is recognized by their finger print and eye lid captured by the immigration system. But last monday japan made a test for the facial recognition system at two major airports in Tokyo area as a part of efforts to smooth immigration control procedures going into the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
The Justice Ministry's Immigration Bureau plans to gather data from 25,000 people in the month-long tests at Narita International Airport near Tokyo and Tokyo International Airport at Haneda to examine the system's capabilities. The bureau is expected to make a conclusion as early as this year on whether the system could be introduced.
