Halloween arrived only recently in Japan, mainly in the context of American pop culture. Western-style Halloween decorations can be seen in many locations, and places such as Tokyo Disneyland and Universal Studios Japan put on special Halloween events. The wearing of elaborate costumes at night is recently very popular in many areas.
With the rising popularity of Halloween in Japan, McDonald have unveil their special edition of burger for this year Halloween. Although the similar black burger can be seen in the market where the Burgers kings japan has already been a market penetrator for black burger but recently McDonald Japan has also joined the black burger's club in Japan.
McDonald’s own dark burger just for Halloween. The burger is called the “Ika Sumi Burger” (Squid Ink Burger), and is a rival to Burger King
McDonalds have also released a new chicken burger which features Camembert cheese, and a new McFlurry with pumpkin sauce.
The Ika Sumi Burger (Squid Ink Burger)
The Ika Sumi (Squid Ink) Burger features two beef patties, cheddar cheese, and crispy fried onions, with a special yellow smoky & spicy Chipotle sauce. The burger also contains a black squid ink sauce. The black in color may represent a black witch for this Halloween which plays mischief on the burger. Price @370 yen
The Camembert Chicken Burger
The Camembert Chicken Burger is the second Halloween burger and features a chicken fillet, lettuce and creamy white Camembert cheese sauce with standard white buns. The white buns and sauce may represent a white ghost, with the burger dressed up in a white ghost costume. Price @ 370 yen
Pumpkin Oreo McFlurry
The third item on the Halloween menu is the Pumpkin Oreo McFlurry. It features pumpkin sauce in the regular oreo cookies & cream vanilla ice-cream Oreo McFlurry. Price@ 276 yen
